New Course: Developing Student's Mindfulness Practice

This 3-credit online course is a great opportunity for the summer. You can work on your course anytime, anywhere, and finish in less than 40 hours.

Mindfulness, or paying attention to the present moment, has been shown to support students and help them meet the needs of an increasingly challenging world. With real classroom footage of teacher and student practices, you’ll have examples to encourage mindfulness in your classroom. This course begins by describing some of the emotional and academic demands students face and the impact it has on their nervous system. Course learners will reflect on the ways that they are currently supporting their students and learn ways to bolster those strategies. The final project will build on the authentic tasks, reflections and discussion board assignments. By the end of this course you’ll have a new pedagogical approach to mindfulness practice that will improve your life and classroom.
